12 Tags of 2013 January

Tags of 2012 was a succes,
so Tim Holtz decided to do it
again in 2013.
All info about the 12 tags of 2013
you find here:

And this is my contribution for January.
I did not want to copy the tag,
but tried to use same techniques and
elements as shown on  Tim Holtz Blog.

I used the sewing room as a theme
instead of time.

A embossingfolder of button's is used for
background and colored with
ice spruce, rusty hinges and walnut stain.
I stamped the text on the
tailor's dummy and added
a little lace stamp for decoration.
With real buttons and buttons from
grunge board colored with metallic stains.
I did not make a tag, but turned this into a card.
Thanks for looking!
Have a creative day!

Abdication

I think Paulette of Create with TLC
had some inside information,
when she posted this
FREE sentiment on her blog:

Tonight the Queen of the Netherlands
announced her abdication after being
our head of state for 33 years.
On April 30 we will Have King Willem Alexander.
It was a total surprise that
this was happening just now.
The Netherlands is taken by surprise.

The picture I googled on the internet
and found by typing Beatrix art.

Have a creative day
and 3 cheers for the Queen!

TJ Shimmer Glitter Sparkle & Shine BLOG HOP

Welcome to the
BLOG HOP
for the new CD
that makes your cards

You have arrived here from
the wonderful creative  Shelly
and weren't here projects awesome?!!

I have three sample for you with two
of the many techniques
that you find on this new cd.
You can check out all these
tutorials here:

The first card is done in the
Distress Shimmer Resist technique
that you find on the center panel
of this card made with Tim Holtz
Stampers Anonymous stamps.
It is a pity you cannot see all the glitter
 and glimmer on the pictures,
but it is really there!
For the background I used a
variation on the Antiqued Wallpaper technique
from the June 2010 TJ Newsletter.
Instead of spraying the embossed
and colored paper with water,
I sprayed it with pearl colored glimmer mist.
Here you do see the shiny background.

The next card show you
the BLENDED GLIMMER MIST technique.
These are the colors I used for
spraying the background.
Here you see the finished background
matted onto black paper.
And this it the card with the pannel
done in the distress shimmer resist
technique.

Stamps used:
on the pannel: Stampers Anonymous
background: SU! French Script

last sample with the same
BLENDED GLIMMER MIST technique:

Here you see the background I created
for the last sample card.
Here you see the finished card.
The sentiment is printed with
the computer.
Close up picture.
If you click on it, you see a larger version.

Valentine inspiration from Create with TLC

With Valentine around the corner
Create with TLC has some wonderful
digital images and for such low prices.

Paulette has asked me to make some
cards to inspire your to use this set:

For the first card, I printed
the cuped image on pink paper.
Behind it you see a large heart
cut out with spellbinders.
The background is a piece of scrap paper.
Inside the card I  used the sentiment
and added a piece of the same scrap paper.

The wings of cupid are covered with
glitter glue and the body with
glossy accent.
On the second card I made the cupid image
look like a tile. First it is printed on
a piece of white paper and  colored
with a blending tool with distress ink
worn lipstick and fired brick.

The background is a piece of scrap paper
stamped with SU! French Script.

The number are cut with the cricut.
Ribbon and little sticky pearls
are used to finish the card.
And the last card is a square card
with the circle sentiments.
The center sentiment is not on the front
of the card, but a cirtcle is cut out and
you see this sentiment is inside the card.
All circles are colored with  a blender tool
and distress inkpads.
The roses are colored with distress markers.

The branches on the front of the card are made
with a die and little sticky gemstone
flowers are added to the branches.

Have a creative day!

Sunday Scrap Page: Snow

Her in the Netherlands it is snowing today,
so it is a great day to spend in my craftroom
and make my Sunday Scrap Page for you.

For this page I used
Club Scrap Aurora Boralis
 papers & background stamp
Distress stains
and my printer for the text

Here you see the colors of distress stains I used
to color the paper for the winter cameo"
brushed pewter
broken china
faded jeans

I used little gemstones on the snowflakes
ans the cameo.

Hope you all stay warm!

Have a creative day!

Valentine Elephants

With the beautiful cloisonné Elephants
by Michael Strong, I wanted to make some
Valentine cards.

For the first card I used the Mojo Monday sketch
and you can find out all about it here:
http://mojomonday.blogspot.nl/2013/01/mojo-monday-276.html

My friend Paulette from Create with TLC
send me the sentiment to use with the elephants.
Check out her blog for everyday freebies!

The second card is below. Here is used some scrap papers
in combinations with the large elephant and
Michael Strongs small cloisonné heart stamp.

The elephant is stamped on a background of distress stains
with vesamark and embossed in silver.

Brushed pewter, festive berries and picked rasperies
ink is put on a craftsheet and with ranger tag paper
I swiped it onto the paper and dried it with a heatgun.
After I stamped the elephant and
the heart on this paper, it was cut out with
scissors.
After the paper was gliues to the card, the heart
and the elephant were added with a piece of foam tape
for some dimention.

This is the inside of the card.
